On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation I would like to invite you to participate as a sponsor or player in our 2017 golf tournament. The 2016 CFFF Classic will again be hosted by our friends at Comtech Fire Credit Union at the beautiful Markland Wood Golf Club in Toronto. Last year’s event in Ontario raised well over $15,000 in support of the Foundation and we are hoping to achieve even better results this year. In the four year history of the event, the tournament has raised over $61,000! The Foundation operates on the proceeds of fundraising, donations and events like our golf tournaments which are a big part of our yearly fundraising.

At Sunnybrook’s Ross Tilley Burn Centre, research led by Director Dr. Marc Jeschke’s team is well underway into using stem cells to transform the care of electrically injured and burned patients. Dr. Jeschke aims to use skin grown from stem cells to heal these wounds, removing the need for painful skin grafts. Essential support from the Toronto Hydro golf tournament will significantly accelerate stem cell research. At last year’s tournament, Toronto Hydro was able to make a significant contribution to the Ross Tilley Burn Centre.
