Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser

A pancake breakfast fundraiser is a wonderful way to raise money for a worthy cause. The concept is simple: gather your community together and raise money by serving a pancake breakfast. Charge an admission fee that will go towards your charity or cause, and be sure to leave a donation jar out for people to chip in a little extra if they choose.

How to Hold a Breakfast Fundraiser

There are a number of steps you'll want to follow to help you plan, promote and manage your pancake breakfast fundraiser. Be sure to be organized so your event can run smoothly. By utilizing fundraising software, you can create a website for your pancake breakfast where you explain the cause of the fundraiser, who will benefit from the money raised, and how people can help. You can post the breakfast menu, list serving times, and location including a map. You can also post photos, and allow volunteers and sponsors to sign up online, and be sure provide an option for people to make online donations if they are unable to attend the event. Be sure to encourage people to share your website link with family and friends! Another opportunity to consider is incorporating additional ways to raise more funds at your event through hosting a silent auction or fundraising raffle.

We've provided more detailed guidelines on how to hold a breakfast fundraiser!

What You Will Need For Your Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser

To host a pancake breakfast, you'll first need to find a place to hold the event. Look for a large open area, such as a school cafeteria, which would be perfect for a school fundraiser. It helps if the location also has kitchen facilities, but this is not 100% necessary. There are plenty of portable frying pans that can be used to make the pancakes as long as you have power outlets. You can also rent large tubs and fill with water to soak/wash dirty dishes. This would allow you to host the event outside if you want! If it is a church fundraiser, there is often a gathering place for church attendees following Sunday services. This would be an excellent opportunity for a pancake breakfast fundraiser as you already have a number of people gathered in one place.

Next, you'll need to purchase a lot of pancake mix, which is pretty inexpensive considering how many pancakes can come from one bowl of batter! And don't forget butter and syrup! Consider offering some other items as well. If berries are in season, partner with some local farmers to see if they can donate some baskets of fresh berries. Be sure to offer juice and coffee too. Often you may be able to get some of these items donated. Reach out to a local coffee shop to see if they are interested in donating coffee for your fundraiser and becoming a sponsor of the event. The lower your out of pocket costs, the more money you raise. Don't forget some of the basics such as: cook wear, kitchen utensils, plates, napkins, etc. The necessities for any meal!

You will also need volunteers. You will need people to make the pancakes, serve the food, stock the tables, welcome guests, collect the money, set-up, clean-up, etc. You can also recruit volunteers to help you promote the pancake fundraiser by handing out flyers the morning of the event. Be sure to have enough staff so things run smoothly. And remember to encourage volunteers, sponsors and members of your organization to help you spread the word. Your pancake breakfast fundraiser is a representation of your organization, so the more prepared you are, chances are your fundraiser will be more of a success!

School Fundraising Flyers

These school fundraising flyer guidelines and sample templates were created to assist your school with promoting your fundraising event or initiative. Marketing your school fundraising activity is an important part of the planning process. Good visibility raises participation, and in turn, helps bring more dollars to support school programs. We've created these guidelines to help you effectively organize the information for your school fundraising event, and provided sample templates that can easily be customized!

School Fundraising Flyers are a basic "one-sheet" designed to explain the purpose of your event, educate people about what your school is trying to accomplish (i.e. what the money raised will support) and outline the important details for the fundraiser you are hosting.

School Fundraising Flyers: Steps to Creating Effective Flyers

  1. Make your school fundraising flyer visually appealing. Use compelling imagery that shows students and participants having fun at the event.
  2. Capture attention with an interesting headline: Create a fun name for your event, and include an introduction explaining what are you trying to accomplish.
  3. Tell them about the "fun activities" that are part of the event:
    • Will there be entertainment, games, food, drinks, etc?
    • Do participants receive free T-shirts or goodie-bags?
    • Will there be prizes for top-performing students?
    • Will there be raffle tickets available for large-prize items donated by sponsors or members of the community?
  4. Details: This is one of the most important parts of the flyer. You need to tell participants and sponsors the "who, what, when, where, and how" of the event.
    • Date, Time, & Location
    • What school programs does the fundraising activity benefit?
    • What will be happening at the event? Prizes, Music, Food & Drink, Etc.
    • What Else? What to wear, what to bring, are there any costs?
    • Contact information in case people have additional questions
    • Include any relevant sponsor logos

Walkathon Flyer Templates

Walkathon flyers are essential to help a school or organization spread the word about a walkathon. Our walkathon flyer templates were created to assist organizations in effectively marketing their walks.  Marketing and promoting a fundraising walkathon is an important part of the planning process. Good visibility raises participation, and in turn, helps bring in more funds for your charitable cause. As well, these walkathon flyer templates can easily be customized for a bowl-a-thon, swim-a-thon, hike-a-thon or other charitable peer-to-peer crowdfunding event.

Event flyers are a basic 'one-sheet' designed to explain the purpose of a fundraiser, educate people about the mission of an organization and outline the important details for getting involved with the walkathon or fundraiser you are hosting. Volunteers can post walkathon flyers around the community at restaurants, coffee shops, community centers, grocery stores, and schools to raise awareness for your cause.

Steps to Creating Effective Walkathon Flyers

  1. Make your event flyer visually appealing. Use compelling imagery that shows walkers having fun at a previous event (if available).
  2. Capture attention with an interesting headline: Create a fun name for your event, and include an introduction explaining what are you trying to accomplish.
    • One idea to capture your audience's attention is to make an emotional appeal by explaining the current situation and telling participants how they can help. Example: 1 in 8 women today are diagnosed with breast cancer. How can you help? By giving back to your local community through participating in our Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraising Walk.
  3. What are the perks? Tell potential walkers about the fun activities that are part of the fundraising event:
    • Will there be a hospitality area with free food and drinks for walkers?
    • Describe your after-party and entertainment - walkers just wanna have fun!
    • Do participants receive T-shirts or other items?
    • Will there be an incentive prizes for the walkers and teams that raise the most money in donations?
    • Will there be raffle tickets available for large-prize items (donated by sponsors, of course)?
  4. Details: This is one of the most important parts of the flyer. You need to tell potential participants and sponsors the "who, what, when, where, and how" of the event:
    • Who's hosting the event? Introduce the organization & cause you support.
    • Date & Time: include event start, pre- and post- activities, and registration/sponsor check-in times here.
    • Location: include address of event and parking information.
    • What Else? What to wear, what to bring, are there fees or fundraising minimums involved? How will you raise money?
    • Your walkathon website URL for registration.
    • Your phone and other contact information in case people have additional questions or want assistance with registration.
  5. Sponsor Logos: You don't want to forget this! Including sponsor logos on your walkathon flyers gives local businesses the opportunity to gain exposure leading up to your fundraiser. This is a great way to say Thank You to your event sponsors and is also a great selling point.
