A charity golf outing to support the launch & growth of girls golf programs at The First Tee of the Jersey Shore! WE MAKE GOLF AFFORDABLE. Playing youth sports has a reputation for creating costs for parents. Golf, especially, has a reputation of being expensive. As a result, many parents shy away from the game when they think of the greens fees, clothes and clubs. At The First Tee, we make it easy. Kids and teens can “come as you are” — no special equipment necessary. We also will not turn a child away due to an inability to pay.
Founded in 1975, Canine Companions for Independence® is a non-profit organization that enhances the lives of people with disabilities by providing highly trained assistance dogs and ongoing support to ensure quality partnerships. The assistance dogs we breed, raise and train aren’t just the ears, hands and legs of their human partners. They’re also goodwill ambassadors and often, their best friends. They open up new opportunities and new possibilities, and spread incredible joy. We unite people with dogs in a powerful program that leads to greater independence and confidence.
There are millions of young people across the globe who lack access to secondary school education. In Kenya, only 50% of primary school graduates will continue on to high school due to financial and social barriers. EFAC provides scholarships, mentoring, and career development to over 500 talented, disadvantaged Kenyan youth who have no hope for an education beyond the 8th grade. Our vision is to help Kenya’s brightest young people overcome the barriers of poverty and realize their full potential in life.
More than 20,000 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer each year, and approximately 15,000 women die from the disease. Unfortunately, most cases are diagnosed in their later stages when the prognosis is poor. However, if diagnosed and treated early, the five-year survival rate is over 90 percent. The Rhode Island Ovarian Cancer Alliance will be hosting our annual 2nd annual golf tournnament to raise awareness about ovarian cancer. All of the event’s proceeds will help fund ovarian cancer education and awareness and provide support services to ovarian cancer survivors and their families.
