Tell us about your cause.
Wonders & Worries helps children cope when their parent has been diagnosed with a life-threatening or chronic illness through individual and group counseling sessions.
What kind of special event fundraising do you do to support your mission?
We do an annual Gala, a Daddy/Daughter Dance and The Beretta USA No Worries Classic Sporting Clay Shoot.
Walk us through the planning process.
The sporting clay shoot is what we use DoJiggy for in our fundraising efforts. We plan for about 6 months ahead of time. We have two co-chairs who are responsible for getting team captains in place and then team captains are responsible for getting their teams in place. Each team collects pledges against bird hits or straight pledges. The top fundraiser and top fundraising team are the big winners—not the best shooters.
Did you reach out to local sponsors?
We are fortunate to have The Alice Kleberg-Reynolds Foundation and Beretta USA sponsor the event every year.
Did you do any advertising to get participants?
We had our dedicated team captains solicit and get participants. We had just under 100 participant shooters this year.
How did DoJiggy help with the planning and success of your event?
It made the entire process so much easier. Once we got team captains set up they solicited donations like you wouldn’t believe. It actually became a little competition to see all of the thermometers rising and who could rise the fastest. Dojiggy is incredibly user friendly and once people understood it, they were excited to use it.
Tell us about your success…How many participants? how much did you raise? Did you accomplish your goals?
It was huge!! We budgeted to raise $120,000 and we made just over $270,000. There is no way we could have done that without DoJiggy! I really believe that, because it made the process so much easier! We had just under 100 shooters with the top fundraiser earning $18,900 and the top fundraising team (five people) earning $46,800. It was remarkable and so much easier to solicit pledges with DoJiggy.
Do you have any advice for other organizations?
Type up detailed instructions for your participants to use. This was extremely helpful for our teams when setting up and preparing for the event.Return to Customer Stories
