Chinmaya Organization for Rural Development
Chinmaya Organization for Rural Development (CORD USA) is a secular, non-profit that helps village groups run their own activities in an integrated, participatory and sustainable manner while augmenting their income and enabling natural resource management by the villagers.
CORD USA will implement a DoJiggy Enterprise portal so that multiple events can be centrally managed.
Since 1983, Hospitality Homes has been providing home-away-from-home lodging for families and friends of patients seeking care at Boston-area medical centers. The caring response as well as relief from emotional and financial challenges for these individuals and families is immeasurable.
The funds will be used to establish an Emergency Needs Fund to purchase pre-paid gift cards in the amount of $25.00 each for food and transportation.
My New Red Shoes
My New Red Shoes helps homeless children in the San Francisco Bay Area feel confident as they start the school year while raising awareness about homeless families by providing them with brand new clothing and shoes.
My New Red Shoes will use the grant for its Clothing for Confidence program which provides homeless & low-income children with brand new shoes, $50 clothing gift card, and a handmade card from a child all presented in a hand-sewn gift bag.
Via Organica is a Mexico-based non-profit organization promoting health, justice, and sustainability, with a primary focus on organic food, farming and ranching and safeguarding organic and Fair Trade standards. It's headquartered in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. A major part of Via Organica's work is it's organic farm school, where primarily low-income small farmers and urban gardeners learn organic farming and permaculture techniques. Via Organica also runs a non-profit organic grocery store and cafÃ© and helps coordinate a weekly organic and Fair Trade farmers market.
Funds will be directed towards the Via Organica project to support local, organic farms in Central Mexico.
The Paradigm Shift Project
The Paradigm Shift Project works to advance education on issues relating to poverty, ecology, health and community development in developing countries via documentary films. They ensure that marginalized voices are heard by documenting communitiesÃ• needs and sharing this footage with the world.
The funds will be used to create curricula guides for the 'The Paradigm Shift Kit,' a free education resource package for teachers to use in their classrooms.
$500 DoJiggy Giving Grants
Global Backpack Project
Global Backpack Project encourages a desire for learning by helping children feel prepared for school. They identify obstacles to attending school, such as lack of a backpack and school supplies or money to buy a school uniform. Then they collect backpacks and donations nd deliver them to children living in underserved regions.
The funding will provide 60 uniforms to children in the Kayunga District in Uganda enabling them to attend primary school.
Palmetto Animal League
Palmetto Animal League is a private, non-profit, 501-c-3, no-kill animal rescue organization which has operated using a network of volunteer foster families. They strive to be the voice for animals in need by actively promoting pet adoptions, providing rescue, educating people about the humane treatment of all animals and ending pet overpopulation through low cost spay/neuter services.
This grant will enable Palmetto Animal League to purchase six hand sanitizer units plus a supply of sanitizer refill cartridges to help protect visitors and animals from diseases and infections.
Saving Orphans through Healthcare and Outreach
Saving Orphans through Healthcare and Outreach improves the quality of life and life expectancy of orphaned and vulnerable children, particularly those from child-headed households, in communities adversely affected by HIV/AIDS through health education initiatives, and by facilitating access to available resources.
Funding will go towards general operating expenses.
Volunteer Action Centre of Kitchener Waterloo and Area Inc.
The Volunteer Action Centre of Kitchener-Waterloo and Area Inc. serves 170 charities and not-for profit organizations in their community that represent arts and culture, health, social services, education, the environment and more to help make Waterloo Region a community in which people want to live, work and raise families.
This grant will enable the purchase of a projector to be used for outreach purposes.
Young Heroes Foundation
Working in 70+ rural Swazi communities, Young Heroes supports over 1,000 orphans with monthly stipends for food, clothing and necessities. They also provide HIV testing and medical care, as well as assistance with education fees.
Young Heroes Foundation intends to use the grant as seed money to challenge and inspire others to give as well.
